Unfortunately, frogs are very vulnerable to predators and pollution, and some species are currently threatened by extinction. Monverde Golden Toad, Western Toad and Gastric Brooding Frog are already gone. A number of tree frogs, such as Golden Bell frog and Blue Mountain Tree Frog are endangered.

Frogs can be found almost everywhere, and their diversity grows from North to South. They prefer shaded and damp areas, and some species tend do burrow in the ground and dig for water. They usually reproduce in water, and males tend to fight for females. When choosing aquatic pets, see the photo of the baby.
