Frogs Pictures - Distribution
Frogs and toads tend to avoid direct sunlight and are basically concentrated in wet and marshy areas with thick vegetation. Frogs are commonly water dwellers, but there are species that can just as easily live on the ground. Some are complete earth-dwellers and never dare even approach water.

The diversity of frogs increases from North to South. In tropics there are species that prefer to lay eggs on trees, which is evident by the discovery of tadpoles and eggs living in rainwater that has been gathered in leaves. Some frogs are well accustomed to barren or even desert areas and can dig deep into the ground to reach water.
More often than not, frogs can be pretty much of nuisance for country dwellers, especially those living in the vicinity of ponds and sloughs. Frogs immediately take up residence in anything containing water (swimming pools, tubs etc.); they encroach upon pet animals' food, to
say nothing of the noising chirping and croaking that a frog produces during rainy weather and mating periods.
Frogs Pictures - History
Anura (frogs) and Salientia (salamanders) are believed to be the first organisms to leave aquatic environment during an early stage of biosphere evolution. Their biologic kinship is observable while in the larva stage of development; both grow in water and feature gills. However, Salamander tadpoles are carnivorous while larvae of frogs are herbivorous.
